Coffee Roasters
A review of coffee roasters coast-to-coast and around the globe. Rated 1 - 10 in coffee beans (10 being the BEST!). I drink my coffee dark and strong, therefore the following are medium to dark roast reviews. If you have any suggestions for me to try, I would love to hear from you! Drop me a line below.
Queen Anne Roasters
All around my favorite Seattle Roasterie! If you love a dark roast, try the Halloween Blend...it will wake the dead. Roasted in small batches weekly. Available in Pike Place Market at Ghost Alley Espresso cafe in downtown Seattle and in their violin shop on Queen Anne Hill.
Fog Woman
Coffee
In Northwest Coast Native mythology, Fog Woman provided salmon to Ravens people. A family owned roaster. Worth trying once. Located on Bainbridge Island, WA.
Raven's Brew
Coffee
Crudely named, but aptly famed! The name of this roast was just too wacky not to give it a try and it didn't disappoint. Experience the concupiscent cup! Velvety mouthfeel, superb body. Pleasant top notes of fruity sweetness hover over dry-chocolate base. Choose any of their roasts! Located in Turnwater, WA.
Cutters Point
Coffee Co.
Fisherman's Blend I could drink all day. Full-bodied roast with top notes of mandarin orange which compliment the array of deep molasses, aged wood tones, a touch of sweet tobacco and finish of decadent chocolate. Dark, rich, complex. You definitely need to order this one...and more than just one bag of beans! Roasted in Gig Harbor, WA.
Bellingham
Coffee Roasters
So many roasts to choose from and haven't met one I didn't love! If you order just one, make it the 'Raptor Ridge' dark roast. Love the artwork on these bean bags! Located in Bellingham, WA.
Fidalgo Bay
Coffee, Inc.
Created for the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival. This tulip blend is a carmelized, full & lingering dark roast. It was overall unimpressive but I love tulips! Located in Burlington-Seattle, WA.
Olympia Coffee Roasting Co.
Ethiopian beans exported from the village of Wenago. Flavors of berry jam, stone fruit, and jasmine caught my eye...but this Gola Roast didn't quite deliver. The roast itself was smooth and full-bodied and the aroma was wonderful. Located in Olympia, WA.
Elm Coffee
Roasters
One of the most expensive bags of coffee beans I have ever purchased! 9 Swans Seasonal Coffee is roasted for both as espresso or as a filter coffee. But, however you brew, this was definitely not worth the money. Flavors of red fruits, tropical and cocoa tasted burnt and lacked the wonderfrul aroma. Roasted in Pioneer Square, Seattle, WA.
Stumptown Coffee Roasters
I wanted to like this coffee, but after trying each roast it was just not going to happen. Although unique roasts such as Citrus/dark chocolate & Jam/Toffee, they were all just too bitter for me. Located in Portland, OR. www.stumptowncoffee.com
The Vashon Island Coffee Roasterie
This Orca Blend is the perfect coffee for breakfast. Rare beans are sourced and directly assist the indigenous families and communities who grow coffee. Located on Vashon Island, WA.
Middle Fork
Roasters
Whether you enjoy a medium roast (Back Pedal Brew), medium/dark (Troubadou'rs Blend), dark (Ghost Alley Blend), or Full City Espresso roast, you can't go wrong here! The aroma from these beans turn your home into its very own coffee house. A combination of Brazilian and Sumatran beans creates a smooth, buttery cup that is naturally less acidic. Just superb coffee!
Located in Pikes Peak Market downtown Seattle, WA.
Twisted River
Coffee Roaster
For those that love a flavored coffee...and with hints of blueberries! Smooth with a base of medium roast Colombia. An aroma of blueberry with a sweet finish. My favorite! Roasted in Dayton, OH.
